I see S's all the time, but I'm in the heart of Rich Liberaldom... Mostly they annoy me when I pull up to my usual public charge spot and there's one already there using 'my' charging station. Hey man, I only have a 50 mile range, I need the juice more than you do! :-) Actually I rarely need the juice, but the EVSE is located near a place I go anyway, and it's free still, so I like to use it when it's available.
I'd love to see some pics of your Berkeley, sounds cool. My only piece of advice is to go lithium. No question about it. Which specific cell I'm not so sure about, I have the older blue CALB's and they are great, but it's all I've used so I have no point of reference.
