Well put, Bruce. If the Auto-Dealers Association were sure their way was the best they wouldn't even be speaking up. If Tesla's method didn't work then it will die on its own so this action by the ADA is actually a very big acknowledgement that they think it is a great plan. Personally, the only two new cars I have purchased would have been much better without the dealer. They both have been overtly dishonest and will never get my business again.
