Fully loaded, it's priced just over $27,000. A driver can do things like dictate a text message to Siri and ask questions, though Siri won't offer answers that aren't completely straightforward and might distract the driver. ] General Motors showed off the 2014 Spark EV in Manhattan the evening of June 25. It's an all-electric vehicle (EV) that's just beginning to arrive at dealerships. It's a tiny, city-perfect car that gets the equivalent of 119 miles per gallon and can travel 82 miles on a charge. It's also the first EV to offer an SAE combo charger for DC quick charging, so that at a charging station—versus in one's garage—it can charge 80 percent of the way in 20 minutes. The Spark EV includes a 7-inch color touch-screen through which it offers access to any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone (though the more finicky iPhone can connect through a USB connection) and offers hands-free controls, including the ability to communicate with Siri, or other voice-controlled software. Nick Pudar, director of developer ecosystems for GM's Global Connected Consumer group, said there will soon be a GM App Shop where drivers can find apps for their vehicles, and developers will be able to leverage all "the tools they need to create great experiences." Pudar added, "The great thing is, we're just beginning to see the creativity emerging."
