No focus EV price cut for Canadians

Ford Motor Co., is cutting the price of the 2014 electric Ford Focus by
$4,000 for U.S. customers only.

"In Canada, the 2014 Focus Electric offers customers a fully loaded,
all-electric vehicle option," said Christine Hollander, Ford Canada
spokeswoman. "We believe that the pricing for the Focus EV is competitive in
the Canadian market. And, as always, we will continue to watch the market
closely and work to ensure we are delivering real value to Canadian
consumers."

The price of the Focus EV in Canada is $41,199. This does not include tax
credits application in various provinces. Residents of Ontario, Quebec and
B.C. are eligible for $8,500, $8,000 and $5,000 respectively.

On Wednesday, Hollander said the 2014 Focus EV, which is expect to arrive in
dealerships next week, will have a starting price of $35,200 - down 10 per
cent from the 2013 model, which had an base MSRP of $39,200.

Earlier this year, Nissan launched its upgraded 2013 all-electric Leaf, with
a $6,697 price chop that lowered its base price to $31,698 ...
