After reading this post I worry about university professors and their progeny. It would only take a week or two to get a car like this back on the road. its all rubbish about unavailable switches for goodness sake and to re-licence and have it approved for road use in the UK would be easy so can't be hard in the US.
You would just call it something else as though it was a kit car and if found to be road worthy, would be licensed.
