Bruce & Al et al: Wow! Would I love to show & shine at this venue!! My first PbSO4 pack could get me there easily but the second one could never even get me to through the tunnel... Kinda killed my activity, add responsibilities, caring for others & PG&E smart meter calamity and forgive me for not being on square one with you! Also OEM and politics of getting hands on new tech.. Life goes on and the EV just becomes THE CAR.. That being said, the BEST time of my EV life was getting invited to Danville's Hot August Nights several years ago [on the old pack] - had to call in the reserves to help field questions,had folks follow us to dinner asking questions and chanting EV! EV! EV! as we left at end of night. Imagine how many times the Done-it-your-selvers given impromptu show-and-tells in front of the grocery store in the pre-Tesla times when anytime out in an EV was an educating experience. I KNOW Ed understands this.. The truth is, the EAST bay just hasn't had the fire for EVs for a few years.. the distance between points is always an issue as well!
The East Bay has a long history of ICE competition and innovation and the spark should jump to EVs, but the old racetracks are gone, and short of some big EV company opening up their test track for some HS and college-age gonna-bee engineers to test their skills, it doesn't look as if it will. Discussion of such is off limits on this list anyway. Still, to show at Black hawk.... wonder if I can pull it together in time? It will at least be a great op to Teslaspot ;- } Maybe I can get there on the Electric train....
