Hi Folk's,
I just got my clean vehicle tax, had to pay $104 for annual Prius registration
in Virginia (also in Wash State). I noticed that EV conversions are under the
radar (but not factory EV's).
BTW, I was up at Chip Gribben's place checking out all the solar houses & EV's
when I noticed that his Impulse 9 motor (Netgain-Warfield) had the same problem
as mine, it was shipped with the timing 12 degree advanced which caused no
starting torque and high current (went through a couple controllers). I fixed
mine simply by removing the 4 rear bolts & putting over to the neutral
position. now it works fine. Also his brush rigging was not symetrical like
mine and had to modify to get symetrical brush rigging so the tail brushes
don't wear down in 1K miles. Mine after modded aren't wearing at all after 5k
miles (per Roland Wench suggestion & verified with milli-ohm meter .2 milli-ohm
differential - at 500A big current mismatch).
have a renewable energy day,
mark
