Is the communication to those banks running through shielded cable and is the shield only connected on one side (the quiet side, not the battery bank side)?

I've been fighting an electrical noise problem in my truck for over a year now. The Elithion is well behaved during charging, and with a PFC40 no less. When I try to use it with the inverter however, as soon as I enable drive and the the inverter draws induction current, the BMS has trouble communicating with 2 of the cell banks. This is better than where I started, with 5 banks failing. I've gone through the noise tracing and correcting recommendations on the Elithion web site and have had excellent support from their email support person. My latest experiment was to shield the DC input cables to the inverter and add a large common mode choke. The 2 awg cables with shields make one turn through the choke. The choke is designed for welders and battery chargers, devices that draw large currents at relatively low switching frequencies. The same 2 banks are still failing to communicate and now, very occasionally banks will fail to communicate that have never failed before. Is anyone else using a similar setup, maybe with a different inverter, and had success solving bank communication faults? thanks, Paul Wallace _______________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE: http://www.evdl.org/help/index.html#usub http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/ev-evdl.org For EV drag racing discussion, please use NEDRA (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEDRA) _______________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE: http://www.evdl.org/help/index.html#usub http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/ev-evdl.org For EV drag racing discussion, please use NEDRA (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEDRA)
