EVLN: Volvo C30 Electric's 22kW recharges 3x slower than Leaf's L3 May

IMO Anything above level-2 at home (i.e. RAV4EV's 9.6kW home charger) is
not a good idea in the U.S. (too much cost, city red-tape to get
approval, etc.). It is wiser just to go to one of the many public L3
EVSE, pay your fee, and use theirs.
So, if I had a Tesla EV, I would most likely charge at most charge at a
6kW level during the Utility's lower time of use rate (11pm-5am), and if
I need more, I would leave the house early and charge at a public L3
EVSE.
Similarly, if I drove one a Leaf or one of the new BMW i3 EVs, I would
charge at home at 3 to 6kW, but if needed/warranted, I would finish the
charge at a public L3 EVSE.
Whether the BMW i3 will offer the Combo L3 as an option is to be seen
when they go on sale, and when there are ample enough Combo L3 EVSE
installed is the future too. In the meantime, there are a growing amount
of CHAdeMO L3 EVSE for the Leaf and iMiev driver to use in the U.S.
