Thanks for the several bits of advice on my Berkeley project from list readers.
There were several concerns, as re: rigidity. In fact, Berks did get re-powered
with a Royal Endfield 750 ice by '59, giving a top speed of 100 mph, with no
major problems. Further, the team that raced this one as an EV 15 years ago put
in some cross bracing and re-worked the suspension-- so no worries.  Also:
Berks, with so little weight, were also know for good braking, so again, no
worries.  Finally, re: the use of the original wimpy transmission-- not to
worry here, too; it's already out of the car. The motor can spin to 12K, so the
tranny would be unnecessary weight.

Regarding my original Q about batteries, bms, and charger:   I'm leaning
toward Enerdel batteries, sold by EVolve.  Enerdel is the original equipment
battery for several production EVs, incl. the Volvo c-30 all electric, and
dealers CALB.    ANYONE here had any experience with Enerdel?
For BMS, it's looking like Orion.  Anyone got any bad news on these?
And the current favorite for charging is the Elcon PFC. Again- anyone with
experience with Elcon?
All comments on any of these will be welcome!   Thanks,  Chris
