I finally joined the ranks and purchased and picked up my LiFEP04. (42 cents Ah). Now I need to install. If the list serve thought my questions were novice before wait till you get a load of my latest ones.
1st to strap. What type of strapping have others used? Metal, Polypropylene, polyester strapping? I am going to strap 8 cells, 2X4 with a Aluminum Plate 8" X 9" on each end. I was thinking three strap per group. Also what is the cheapest kit or individual tools that anyone has to used to do the job. My second question is interconnecting between the strapped cells. since the 8 cells will be stationary to each other, within the 8pack, can they be connected with a solid piece of copper or aluminum plate between the terminals? Between the 8 packs I know I will need a flex loop, be it wire or metal strip. Also can someone point me in the direction to figure out the width and thickness this plate and interconnects should be in either copper or Alum? I will be running about 300 amps max at 192 volts. Normal driving my amp meter is between 100 and 170 amp.
