Ben ... I also have 130ah Calbs, 38 of them in my little Lectric Leopard. I read your EV album, and realized I had the same problem with a couple cells sagging - I didn't sand or put di-electric grease on mine either. I still get a little sag though in colder temps (I have only a 1/2" of insulation and no heating), so I guess that's to be expected.
I have a pretty wimpy 6.7" ADC motor (and dream about putting in an AC 51, for example), but since I've been running with lithium (now a full year) it's less of a problem and I don't think I've ever seen over 300 (battery) amps; normally I can cruise on the level under 100 amps. I have only driven 3000 miles on these in a year (about 75 cycles), so I don't think I'm going to get the miles or cycles out of them before they die of old age.
