High Tech Corvette· Oct 26, 2013 Poor little Mustang... It's hard to conceive watching a car launch like this but not make any noise. What makes this pass even more amazing is the car didn't shift, it actually runs low 9's. It's battery powered by Lipos, kinda cool because it's like a full scale RC car ... ] This little race car for the strip is almost like 1:1 scale electric car. The advantages of having electric power is that 100% of your torque is available from the first moment you touch the throttle. The car has killer starts but doesn't seem to have the legs later on. Anyway, a 9.61 second quarter mile pull is pretty much unheard. It even outpaces a Ford Mustang for goodness sake. Give the guy a V-shaped battery pack, he deserves it. We're sure there are plenty of haters who don't want to see electric dragsters. But this isn't about being green at all (that tire smoke could kill an elephant) it's about poweeeeeeeeer. Smoke much?
