The owner of this garage is leaving his car out tonight. That's because he had to make room for this Teslar for a different man he hadn't met until today; and all because he needed a little charge. Friendship is all about sharing, but unlike his parking job, let's get one thing straight. These guys barely know each other. I guess you could call them eco-friendly. Stewart Herman- Fargo:"It is smooth, it is quiet and my wife prefers it over our other car." Stewart Herman drives a Nissan Leaf. Like Herman's Leaf, this Teslar Model S. runs on electricity. Herman: "There are no other charging stations between here and Bismarck, or from here to St. Cloud." According to an online charging community called Plug Share, there are only three plug-in stations all across North Dakota. One of them happens to be in Stewart's garage. Herman: "I was simply too delighted when I heard him say that he was going to be driving from Winnipeg down to Fargo and could he plug it in overnight to recharge it, so he could drive it back home and I said surely." This Teslar owner, Kyle Friesen, joined Plug Share just minutes before his. Far from home, eco-friend agreed to share his space. Kyle Friesen- Winnipeg: "So, I emailed cautiously at first and kind of got the tone right away that this is a really nice guy." And so far, their friendship is purely 'electric.’ Herman: "Without the electrocution.” All jokes aside, this electric car business really seems to be the future. Friesen: "Really, I'd say it's the present. People just don't know it yet." And all the fans admiring the 85 kilo-watt car agree. The only problem is the price. Herman: "If you have a good idea, it comes down in price, and I think these will come down in price. And electric cars will become affordable." Giving up gas and going electric can cost you up to $125,000. But who knows? You might just be able to make a few friends along the way.
