An EV with the batteries in the floor needs stronger pillars than an ICE vehicle to meet rollover standards, but the real problem seems to be that modern styling tends to have very sloped windshields and poor rear visibility. I'm glad I have a LEAF, but it has given me incentive to finish my conversion of my '98 VW so I can have an EV with visibility (as well as climate control and radio that I can change without taking my eyes off of the road!)
