The number of useable newswires has been pretty light during this Holiday. This is the time of year when several media outlet usually put out a list of this or that covering the highlights of the year 2013.
With time left over because there are so few newswires to process, I thought I would put together a few things in retrospect that you might find interesting. Change is not linear (a straight line), it is accelerating (a curved upward, logarithmic/exponential). With change happening so fast all around us, it way too easy to fall into juvenile thinking mode (like when you were a short term thinking teenager who thought they already knew everything). Let's force ourselves to look at the past to compare what we know and have today, to the way it was and hopefully how much has it improved(?). There are archives that the evdl posts go to, so that there is a record of all of this. In addition to what is posted via an evdl.org subscription, I also post directly to one of these archives (nabble). I do this to reduce any possible complaints (of too much brucedp posts) and keep the available for the public and plugin media outlets to draw from for historical purposes. Several of the evdl nabble hits come in from searches from the search engines, which why I chose the nabble archive to place my posts. I hope that the nabble archive can be kept for a long time, so as to show this history. In any event, I hope that the nabble archive is being backed up in a secondary location, so we, the plugin community do not lose the documentation of all our efforts. With that in mind, I spent time manually walking through each and every page on the nabble archive going backward. There are topics that had several hits some up into the 1000+ count. Could it be that the automakers and oil companies are not paying media outlets to pump anti-plugin pieces right now. If true, at first you might think that is a good thing.
