I agree with you. Interesting point comes up, however, when I went to the link you provided. In the text body, it says the EVSE can be used with 240 volts. I wonder if that means you can snip the connector and plug it into your dryer outlet?

Repeating: I would not like drivers be forced to pay for Nissan's $1000 Level-1 EVSE, when I can buy any type of Level-1 and or Level-2 EVSE for much less. If you are worried about waiting for your EVSE, then buy the EVSE before hand. Also, there are plug-in EVSE that do not need a formal installation (they are not hard wired). They plug into an existing outlet. If you do not have an available out, then do not buy a plugin until you do, or ... Do what a Ford Focus Electric buyer did. She declined on paying for their Ford badged Leviton EVSE http://ford.leviton.com/ and only charges at the public L2 EVSE near her. She lives in an apt. that does not have EVSE installed, and does not allow her to pay to use the apt.'s existing outlets. Everyone's situation is different. I want Nissan to not force me into something that does not fit a driver's needs. IMO it is not a selling point if a driver did not want it and 'has-to' buy it. {brucedp.150m.com} - On Sun, Jan 5, 2014, at 10:18 AM, Thos True wrote: ... > I agree with you that an L3 port should be offered as part of the economy > package. *Just curious, why are you suggesting making the EVSE 1 optional?
