What (almost) everyone remembers about Henry Ford, other than the Model T, is that he paid his workers enough that they could afford to buy the product they were making. (He endured attacks from other mega-industrialists for it, too; they didn't like this precedent one bit.)
So let's see ... the states trying to get Tesla to locate there have ensured that Tesla's employees can't buy a Tesla from Tesla. I wonder whether Elon pays them enough that they can afford one anyway.
