I had sent an email to the writer advising him of the error.

Manteca is in California's central valley where two major north-south
highways flow (5 & 99). It is south of Stockton, north of Modesto, and
east of Tracy. Except for the surrounding Ag areas, the city caters to
that trucking and other light industries. Its location is good if you
want some lower cost land for a plant, and not too far from the SF bay
area or those major highways.

Having said that, ... yea, I would not expect their media outlet to be
too up to date on EVs, even really big deal ones like Tesla. If you look
at that writer's other news items
https://www.google.com/#q=%22jcampbell%40mantecabulletin.com%22
EVs are a top priority with them (right now). So, I usually cut these
writers some slack on errors. Not everyone knows or wants to know about
plugins in California.

Tesla did not renew their license with Lotus, so they can no longer
produce the Roadster model. But Tesla does have a Roadster page on their
web site (link found on the bottom of the main page):
http://www.teslamotors.com/roadster

And Tesla still sells the pre-owned Roadster models they have. After the
Pre-Owned Roadster is a View Inventory link.
