I think that Willie (on this list) has been towing a trailer with his Tesla Model S for some time. I read his postings on some of the trips. I think it was late last year.
I find the differences between the U.S. and Europe kind of amusing. I had an email discussion about my conversion with someone from Europe. He was asking what approvals I had to get on the design. I explained that in my state, you could do anything you wanted with your car unless it is specifically illegal. He was shocked.
