This Month's Meeting: 

History of Electric Vehicles

(4th Saturday) 10 am to 12 pm (Noon). 
Meeting Location: Alameda Main Library, 1550 Lincoln Ave @ Oak St, Alameda, CA
Meet in the Family Study Room, 1st floor, in back, left of the coffee shop 
counter
Visitors welcome, open to the public.

This month our feature topic is: The History of Electric Vehicles
We'll start out with a short video of a 1912 neighborhood electric car, with a 
range of almost 100 miles, as well as its 1912 public infrastructure that 
featured a recharging station every 10 city blocks.
Prepare to be amazed.
And after the meeting, be sure to check out our members Electric Vehicles, in 
the rear library parking lot.

Also, mark your calendars for Sat, Sept 20, 10am for an attempt to break an EV 
record.
SAP and the Electric Auto Association of Silicon Valley (EAASV) are sponsoring 
the Guinness Book of World Records attempt for the largest number of electric 
vehicles in a parade.

Place: De Anza College
Address: 21250 Stevens Creek Blvd, Cupertino, CA 95014
     Parking Lot A (entrance is from Stevens Creek)

Date: September 20th 2014   Start Time: 10 AM 
Please arrive between 7 and 8 AM.  Be prepared to be involved for 2-4 hours.  
It will take a minimum of 2 hours to complete the parade and officiate the 
record.

The first 500 participants will receive a free T-shirt denoting the World 
Record. Stickers and Decals will be available for purchase with the same 
imagery. The record to beat is from Stuttgart Germany @ 481.
