% What's the deal? Ford's anti-EV-sales-attitude using a back-door/work-around for zEV credits? Does CARB define 'BEV' as any-electric vehicle? If so, is Ford selling non-street-legal nEVs like this, e-bikes, etc. for credits? That would smell like the very same tactic used way-back in 2000 when automakers just sold/gave-away e-golf-carts/nEVs for credits %

Except, it’s not exactly what you’re thinking. Yet it will still cost you some serious coin. And speaking of serious, this is no April Fool’s Day prank. This “Raptor” is the real deal. Meant to be driven off road, it’s actually pretty dang quick. OK, so what’s the catch? It’s an electric ATV, but that doesn’t make it any less bold or expensive at $25,000. Introduced at the Texas State Fair, and on display at Ford’s SEMA booth, the Raptor has been selling well, according to Caddy Shack Golf Cars owner Tim Martin who took a few moments to talk with us during the show. How about these numbers? The SVT Raptor EV can hit its top speed of 25 mph in 2.9 seconds. It also has a range of 30 miles. No word yet if it’s entered in the 2014 Baja 1000. (Probably not enough charging stations in Mexico.) It’s also got a 48v DC electric motor and rides on a welded tubular steel frame that sits atop a “lifted” EZGO l-6 chassis. It has rack & pinion steering with a tilt wheel thrown in for good measure. It also includes front & rear leaf-spring suspension; front & rear hydraulic shocks; and rear wheel mechanical self-adjusting drum brakes. Because of its custom SVT 14? aluminum wheels (think Hyundai Accent size), the Ford SVT Raptor can’t be used as a golf cart. Sorry Bubba Watson. But, it’s still pretty awesome.
