The E-Vehicle Rally was flagged off by journalist Kanak Mani Dixit, actress Nisha Adhikari and Managing Director of Agni Group Cabinet Shrestha. The 5th electrical vehicle was organized by Agni Energy and Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Center (SIRC). As stated in the press release, the larger goal of the event is to move towards clean energy and pollution control amidst what should be our inevitably hydropower-based economy. Bardan Basnet, Senior General Manager of Agni Energy spoke about the commitment to protect the ecology of Kathmandu. “The Mahindra e2o fully automatic electric car is an effort to usher in positive change in the lives of consumers. With the Mahindra e2o, we’ve taken the lead in creating a comprehensive ecosystem to nurture sustainable mobility solutions. The latest updated model of e2o, with power steering, runs over 120 km at the cost of one liter of petrol,” he said. Another objective behind the rally was to raise funds for SIRC. Participants at the rally were taken around SIRC and also got to interact with patients. They also had the opportunity of buying organic vegetables for sale at the SIRC premises. Bardan also announced, “For each kilometer drive of Mahindra Reva electric cars in the rally, Rs 100 from the company will be donated to the spinal injury patients.” [© Nepal Republic Media] For EVLN posts use: http://evdl.org/evln/ http://www.evdl.org/archive/index.html#nabble+template%2FNamlServlet.jtp%3Fmacro%3Dsearch_page%26node%3D413529%26query%3DEVLN%2Bbrucedp2%26days%3D0%26sort%3Ddate {brucedp.150m.com} -- View this message in context: http://electric-vehicle-discussion-list.413529.n4.nabble.com/EVent-30-EVs-in-11-18-morning-rally-need2make-Nepal-EV-friendly-tp4672656.html Sent from the Electric Vehicle Discussion List mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE: http://www.evdl.org/help/index.html#usub http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/ev-evdl.org For EV drag racing discussion, please use NEDRA (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEDRA)
