Every one here answered all your questions very good, I to set the kick down at 3/4 travel if it has one, like a 400 or 350, A 727 and 904 also has one ,I do the same thing. The 700 R4 early type can do even better in a EV, If you want lock up, I put a pressure switch on a test port and run 12 volts in and out to lock up the converter. I dont mess around with this and that, I take the easy way and the most simple approach, The EVNetics has a curb idle. I use that. also what wasn’t mention is trans cooling, I use a A/C condenser where the Rad use to sit, put a fan in front and your done, the trans always runs cool.
When I do a automatic, I dont spend time on the Math of how or why it should work, they just do and they get out of my shop fast . When George Hanstra came to my shop, I had just finished my 76 Nova to all electric, we went for a drive, He was impressed on how it up shifted and down shifted, except for a small trans cooling hose leak, it worked just like it was suppose to with the 6 cylinder gas engine in it . I did a Ford E350, 2002 van, it had a over drive automatic, , I installed a Warp 11 and an EVNetics 1,000 amp controller, installed the shift modual and road tested it, set shift points , where I liked the way it ran down the road, trial end error ,, Top speed was about 70 in OD ,this was a 14 passenger van, not some toy -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
