I don't know that I'd call it sexy, except that one camera shot lingers rather longer than necessary on the talent's, uh, physical assets. But weird? Oh yeah, definitely.
I don't understand the Japanese, but this is what I got from watching it before reading the synopsis in Nikki's story. We have here a beast whose spinning horns (!) clearly show that he's utterly smitten with a young woman shopper. The woman seems to just want to plug in (unplug?) her Nissan Leaf at Famiy Mart. The beast even tries to give her roses, but to no avail. Finally, with some help from the Family Mart manager (?), he seems to win her over, getting her to sing along with him as he plays his electric guitar (she uses the chademo adapter as a microphone). By the end of the ad, she's throwing sparks (kisses?) at him, they're dancing hand in hand, and he's helping her (finally) plug in her car. (Which, in the next scene, is again unplugged. Go figure.) Here's this 3+ minutes of quirkiness, unembedded : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fk6Lqjb7xOQ And Nikki's synopsis from Bruce's post, which corrects what I got wrong : https://transportevolved.com/2015/02/24/japanese-ad-for-electric-car-rapid- charging-at-familymart-is-the-weirdest-tv-ad-weve-ever-seen/ http://v.gd/1hT0XR This one has the old GM EV1 "appliance worship" ad beat all to heck for quirkiness.
