Good gentlefolk, Please do as the subject requests. As an antispam measure, the server holds all posts with addresses other than, or in addition to, "ev at lists dot evdl dot org" in the TO or CC fields. This means that your post will be delayed at least a few hours and maybe several, depending on how often I check my email.
There is no need for extra addresses in the TO or CC fields. If you reply to an EVDL message, the message will go to all the people interested, including the original poster. If you also put their addresses in the TO or CC fields, they'll get two copies, which is a waste of their bandwidth and time. If the extra addresses aren't EVDL members, that's even worse, because then you're publicly exposing private email addresses. Unfortunately, when one person posts with extra addresses, it cascades. Everyone who replies to that post will also be posting that way. In the past, I've mostly automatically approved all these held extra-address posts, unless they had private email addresses in them. To try to cut down on the pileup of replies being held for multiple addresses, I'm going to stop doing that. From now on, if you have extra non-list addresses in the TO or CC fields, no matter who they are, your post will bounce back to you to be fixed. Note that this doesn't affect the BCC field in any way. If you really think it's necessary, you can use that field to send extra copies to other people. Sorry if this seems harsh, but please try to understand. In addition to the privacy matter, I just hate to see threads slowed down by replies that get stuck in the "hold" queue. Thanks for your understanding.
