I can't imagine stealing (just) the battery pack out of a Nissan Leaf while it sits in a parking lot or at the side of the road.... it's a relatively noisy process (I needed to use an impact wrench) and time consuming process, not to mention the 600+ lb weight, and the need to jack the car up quite high to get it out....
