Electric vehicle advocates will gather from afar in Portland July 29 and 30 at the EV Roadmap 8 conference, at the World Trade Center in downtown Portland. The conference is sponsored by Drive Oregon, a trade group supported by the state of Oregon. Scores of leaders in the industry and government will be in attendance. Highlights include: keynote addresses by the former deputy mayor of Oslo, Norway, and Jim Piro, CEO of PGE; workshops on building a market for used EVs, best practices in fast-charging corridors, utility regulations, long-range EVs, Level 2 chargers, wireless charging, marketing of EVs, how EV drivers should pay for roads, EV tourism, and workplace charging. There also will be a two-hour electric bike tour, and a tour of Oregon wineries via a 40-foot electric coach.
