Fixing the two-year-old vehicle has cost up to £12,000 so far, and meant owner Nicholas Currie has driven 5,500 miles in a courtesy car. After its 24th stint in the Westcroft garage, the electric Renault Zoe is now back at home – but Mr Currie says he completely regrets buying it. “It has been an absolute disaster story,” he said. “I got it for eco reasons, but I have spent more time driving a petrol car. It has made me totally lose faith in electric cars.” Renault says it has made “goodwill gestures” to Mr Currie, including a free service and an EVSE charging cable. A spokesman said: “We are aware of the issues that Mr Currie has experienced and are sorry that he feels disappointed with his vehicle. “Any faults that have occurred have been fully repaired under warranty and we have kept Mr Currie mobile at all times with a courtesy car.” [© miltonkeynes.co.uk] ...
