I agree with the original commenters that this is a pretty stupid article.

As a Tesla driver, I have been very pleasantly surprised to find that it is as 
efficient as my Honda del Sol conversion that weighs just over half as much.  
Driving a mixture of in town and highway driving at 55-60 mph, running AC only 
in the afternoon, I can average 245 wh per mile for the day.  That is what I 
get in my del Sol and it doesn't have the option to run AC.

It is more than just performance (although that is great).  Because of the 
efficiency, it is as cheap to run as any other EV.  It is so responsive,  both 
accelerating and decelerating.  It just does everything better than I expected.

And, yes, it is green.  Since I was driving a conversion with a 0-60 time 
exceeding 20 seconds, I am obviously willing to give up performance to drive 
electric.  It is A LOT more fun to have the performance and aggressive 
regeneration.
