This presents the possibility of more Tesla competitors from the company in the future. "We are working on an intelligent concept for a highly attractive electric vehicle with a range of [228-311 miles]," Weber said, adding that the vehicle will be available to drivers "soon." Mercedes-Benz has been involved with Tesla in the past, being a former stakeholder in the electric car maker with a 9.1 percent ownership of the company in 2009.
