The Tesla Model S is undoubtedly one of the most-popular electric cars in
the market. The electric car has a number of variants and a new video shows
which variant of the vehicle is faster.

Tesla introduced the Model S in June 2012 and the popularity of the car has
been increasing ever since. On July 2, the company also announced that it
has made record sales of the car in the second quarter of this year.

"Today Tesla Motors announced 11,507 Model S deliveries for Q2 2015. This
was a new company record for the most cars delivered in a quarter and
represents an approximate 52 percent increase over Q2 last year," Tesla
stated on its press release.

The incredible acceleration of the Tesla Model S is a feature that attracts
many car customers. The original Model S can reach speeds of 60 miles per
hour in just 5.9 seconds. Tesla introduced the dual-motor Model S P85D in
late 2014, which can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3.2 seconds with
the help of a feature dubbed "Insane" mode.

However, this acceleration is outdone by the Model S P90D that goes from 0
to 60 miles per hour in only 2.8 seconds in the "Ludicrous" mode. DragTimes,
a YouTube channel, has compared the acceleration of the Model S P85D and the
Model S P90D in a video.

The video shows the two Tesla Model S cars side by side. The Model S P85D in
Insane mode does not have a chance of competing with the Model S P90D in
Ludicrous mode.

Tesla will be rolling out the Model X in October 2015, which will also get
the optional ludicrous mode. Buyers will have to splash additional cash on
the car if they want to experience the new mode. The Model X is expected to
go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.3 seconds, which is slower than the
Model S but still fast for an SUV.

Check out the video of the Model S in action in the insane and ludicrous
modes.
