As some know, I sieve the newswires for plugin related items. I do this
multiple times a day, and I change my search parameters as needed to try to
get usable news or at least interesting items to post (yes, it is quite a
time consuming task).

Those the follow my EVLN posts have recently seen their number per day
increase, and now decease. It isn't for the lack of trying, or another
health issue for me (I'm keeping my head above water, thanks). It is the
drying up of interesting news pieces. Hopefully this is only temporary, and
we can get back to the nice juicy-sweet ones we like to read.

[This leaves a lot of time during the day on my hands, so recently I have
been updating my back up PC (hardware, software, and OS'). This is a good
thing as hopefully in the future, I would like to take some trips to see if
relocating/moving is a possibility. I will not get into the personal
issue-hoops I have to jump though so that I can eat low-salt (heart issues),
or find a transportation that fits my taller-larger than most sized body,
etc.

I am also using the time to explore other Internet connectivity. Not only
for when the shared connectivity at home goes over loaded (unusable), but
also so when I am on the road (in a motel room), or out remote (visiting
U.S. cities near a VA hospital), I can still post the EVLN items some enjoy.

I am at a decision point of either to choose a (MiFi) wireless (non-phone)
device (which would connect via a WiFI-hotpsot), or just go with a tethered
cell-phone I can WiFi hotspot off of. Since this topic is OT on the evdl.org
, please directly send me any views/ideas you have on that so as to save
evdl bandwidth.]

Newswires: Currently, what I am seeing is a whole lot of non-EV topics that
purposely throw-in Electric Vehicle in their wording so as to increase
their readership, or dilute those like myself that are seeking actual EV
news items. There are a lot of fcv, ngv items doing this, as well as a new
crop of anti-plugin pieces (IMO I am going to see even more of those as the
election nears).

There are also some news items of a topic here in the U.S. we have rarely
seen. Yes, the days of old where smog was known to be horrible in LA (Los
Angeles, CA), we have not had the severe problems in Europe (i.e.: Paris,
London, etc.) or Asia (i.e.: China, etc.). So, there are several news items
about those that include the use of EVs, and the
carbon-free/lower-local-carbon way of their use. I do not post many these to
the evdl, though a good snap shot of reason/cause of the huge push of more
EV use, ice-smog is OT on the evdl.

As I previously posted, there are also the feel-good news items I do not
post, that speak of concepts that are years away, that may never go into
production, and or that I have already posted about (I check the evdl
archives for my own work). A lot of those are just PR for those companies to
drum up investment$. My goal on those is to post them once, but hold off
until something improves/gets closer to production before I post them again.

As we have seen, I am not the only one that posts the news items they have
found. But I ask that like me, please do your best to follow the evdl.org
charter of what is on-topic. Do know that news links change quickly, which
is why I capture what I see as text before it is removed or placed somewhere
else. So, it is the text I am posting whole lot more than the URL I include
to validate and show where the text came from. I do this as a service
because some people do not want to pay for all the subscriptions that some
media outlets require.

For those that lurk or are remote and want their EVLN fix, the archive is
always available to you (see URL below), or click on the EVLN folder icon
floating at the top of the main archive page.
