As a family with both a Volt and a Leaf, it is the latter for us. Both cars are always charged fully each night. We use the Leaf for local errands. Longer trips is the Volts duty. Even with this usage pattern our Volt is used 85% as an EV. It easily handles my 17 miles each way commute. Lifetime mpg bounces between 236-240 depending on recent trips. This is with only 26,600 miles on it.
