I ran 100' #12 wire down to the street and put an outlet there on the
utility pole &   Put a sign over it.

The value of the effort is not the one guest we have had in 3 years that
used it, but the thousands of people that drive by and see the sign every
day..  During the night, they see the little LED pilot light.

Again, its the SIGN that is worth the effort.  People will slowly learn
that all you need is 120v L1 while parked.  And that that kind of power is
EVERYWHERE!

Rather than installing a typical $12 GFCI outlet, I splurge to get the
special one made just for EV's from Home Depot for $29 since it has the
pilot light:
