The above url contains 5 photos of the open box of the MCS100-III.  I think the 
neutral 14-50 pin is used to carry the pilot signal.  I guess all Avcon are 
compatible with J1772 even though the Honda EV plus doesn't use that signal and 
this one is not a standard wiring configuration.  Anybody agree with this or 
have another theory?  Can you follow the white wire from the 14-50 through the 
fuse to the tiny pilot module?  I can't think of any other use for the neutral 
connection.  It is the component(14-50) to the bottom left.  The MSC-100 is a 
very well built box.  You unscrew two screws.  Slide the panel down and it 
opens up to a beautiful installation. On the front of the panel you have a 
14-50 on the bottom right.  So when open the 14-50 is on the bottom left.
