% The news item sez S.D. Car2Go will put their Smart EVs up for sale during the month of May. I have contacted them to find out what the procedure will be used as this could be a good opportunity for the public to buy a Smart EV.
*I did get a quick response from the parent company (daimler.com) rep: "The decision to sell the vehicle isn't definitive just yet. We may repurpose them internally, but if we go that way I've passed your information to the right person internally who will get in touch" So, those interested should hold off until I hear from them (if at all). In my many years of providing free help to the EV-cause, I have helps entities to sell their EVs by getting the word out. So, as soon as I know, I will let everyone know. One would have to drive far and up over the mountain range to get out the heat of the desert. So their packs are likely have not had heat-stroke. The switch will attract new members, he said, because it will increase confidence they can reach their destination.
