Holden St. The speaker for the event is Alexander Richards, assistant professor of automotive technology management at UCM, who will discuss electric (EV) and hybrid electric (HEV) vehicles and how communities and the world might benefit by using cleaner modes of daily transportation. Richards will also survey the electric options currently available, what to expect from a vehicle of this type, and the differences in the operation of the car as compared to a “typical” automobile. The program will be accompanied by an Electric Car show which will be held from 2 until 6 p.m. on the Missouri Safety Center grounds. Vehicles including BMWs, Teslas and Nissans will be on display. With electric vehicles increasingly becoming a viable transportation alternative to traditional modes, the display will appeal to both car enthusiasts and environmentalists.
