EVLN-Nikola-Motor-Announces-2kHP-Semi-trailer-Truck-he-Tractor-tp4682018.html

I am making this post after receiving a private (off-the-cuff) email with
wording that questions if I know the (above) post was OT, that it must have
been a slow news day to post that, (+more) ...

For those that do not know me, and what I have been doing since 1990, I
would ask that before you let yourself whip out a message that reads snarky
(then why-else would you send it?), that for a period in evdl's early
history, I was evdl's system administrator, and worded some of Clyde
Visser's evdl charter, that today's version was drawn from (its kind of like
asking one of the U.S. Constitution Founding Fathers if they knew that they
were in conflict with it ... ). Of course I am open to feedback, (caveat:
sometimes I, like most humans, need my reins drawn to keep me in alignment
with evdl.org member's interests ... etc.).

But those that actually read the entire (top) news item post would have seen
that their company also touts its UTV EV. So, the post did have an actual EV
in it.

Members that remember what has been discussed with great member interest in
the past ...
http://electric-vehicle-discussion-list.413529.n4.nabble.com/template/NamlServlet.jtp?macro=search_page&node=413529&query=mining+truck

(which are just huge he-trucks), where no-one seemed to care (at the time)
that it was OT. So, there must be some value to member's in those
discussions (hopefully focusing on the non-OT bits).

Also, since I have been doing this a long-long time, take a few steps back
from your haste to judge, and consider there must be a
method-to-Bruce's-madness(?!?) ... I see a lot of 'stuff', so there must
have been a reason to post the (top) item.

Could it be that I was having a 'slow news day'. Sure ... as I have stated
in the past
http://electric-vehicle-discussion-list.413529.n4.nabble.com/EVLN-status-EV-news-drought-We-ve-been-spoiled-tp4680916.html

by comparison, there is a massive slow-down of EV developments as we near
elections (which are also OT on the evdl.org) ...

But I won't be at anything like at the point of news-thirst to be sucking on
the slimy insides of the rain barrel for just something or anything to post
(I do not do all this work for free just to stroke my ego). I have seen so
many so called EV-news media outlets that do resort to that. If I feel items
I find have no merit being posted, I would not post them to the evdl.org
until I had something worthy.

Note that, what may seem uninteresting to you, will be to someone else, even
though it isn't a 'hot topic'. We have to keep our EV-news addiction on a
short leash to keep our perspective (and prevent releasing your inner snark)
...

I had the same views as Peri posted
http://electric-vehicle-discussion-list.413529.n4.nabble.com/Re-EVLN-Nikola-Motor-Announces-2000HP-Semi-trailer-Truck-he-Tractor-tp4682022p4682023.html

something is not right with this (top) news item (aka it smells wrong) ...

So, why did I post about the (top) he-semi-truck-tractor news item?

[soapbox mode on]
My biggest reason for posting the (top) item, was to point out how many
Tesla parasites there are ... feeding off of Tesla's achievements.

Since, I sieve though many-many news items multiple times everyday, I always
see other non-Tesla items/products being referenced to as being as good as
or competing with a Tesla ...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tastes_like_chicken

all the way to the other side as a 'Tesla-killer', etc. (theirs is so-good
it will blow Tesla-away ...).

Musk is no slouch. He chose that company name likely for several reasons.
Other companies have tried to imitate their success ...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faraday_Future
Faraday Future

which BTW is still making a whole lot of inve$tment trolling noise, with
still nothing to show of it all (hence why I haven't posted much on them).

But the (top) news item shows that company is blatantly exploiting what
Tesla Motors has built up, and their he-truck product is not even an EV.
Their main media-blitz push is their semi he-tractor leveraging off-of
Tesla's name, calling it an Electric (when it is not), trolling for
inve$tment money, (+more).

All of this is so confusing for the public to fathom (which makes more work
for EVangels to gently un- fathom them). One could say parasites are just
part of the business-game ...
http://www.alternet.org/economy/how-huge-companies-apple-are-actually-parasites-americas-tech-industry

But they water-down the honest efforts of the serious, real EV companies
(something we just do not need, ever). I won't say this is a Koch Bros
effort
http://electric-vehicle-discussion-list.413529.n4.nabble.com/EVLN-Koch-Brothers-Multimillion-Dollar-War-on-EVs-tp4680590.html

but it is subversive enough to be akin to theirs (I see a lot of negative
EV news items that look like they were Koch funded).

But like any parasite, their removal (discrediting by providing EV
knowledge, making the public aware of what they are doing, etc.), has to be
done right ...
