The couple left Victoria’s Mile Zero Saturday morning, beginning their 10,000 kilometre trip to St. John’s, Newfoundland. This is the first time anyone has attempted the journey in a 100 per cent electric vehicle. The Tesla Model X will be towing a camping trailer. The couple said they want to show that long distance travel and even camping is possible in an electric car. They plan on travelling on average 300 kilometres a day, charging their car overnight and during lunch. The camper even has solar panels and lithium batteries should the couple get stranded and need an extra power boost.
