Since there seems to be some interest in how I did a 90 mile trip in an 84
miles range EV and still had 25% state of charge left I'll explain. 0 I think
it is mostly the stiff Delta wind at work. I did drive the 2 ball method
keeping between 4 & 8 miles per kWh. This translates into 45 MPH to 70 MPH
depending on terrain. You can coast twice on the bay bridge. Once in a while
between Berkeley and American Canyon. One long one from American Canyon to
Fairfield. Don't forget. Coasting is free miles on the kinetic energy you
have built up climbing the hill. There is no convenient EV charging in
Sacramento. Your choices are Nissan or the Land Park area public library
South, both around 6 miles away. Both on Plug Share. Any other questions let
me know. The trip took 2.5 hours on a medium busy Friday afternoon. Lawrence
Rhodes...I can't make it back so I charge @ Fairfield "Momentum" Nissan. This
direction the wind works against you.
