Bruce doesn't usually look for responses to his "Nabble only" news posts,
but this one caught my eye. The SAM has been around in more or less
prototype form for several years now and I remember being pretty impressed
when I first heard of it in ~2002.

Back then, there wasn't a whole lot to choose from in the factory EV world.
Things are quite different now. At the $12-14k price (even with Poland's
presumably cheaper labor), and with its limitations, I think it'll have a
tough haul against, for example, the much more capable Mitsubishi Imiev.
With incentives, the Mitsu is within hailing distance of the SAM's price.

Much depends of course on whether the SAM qualifies for the full $7.5k tax
credit. But then there are all those amazingly cheap used Leaves. (Those
won't last if fuel prices make a big jump, however.)

BTW, you probably didn't mean it literally, but to be clear, the SAM isn't
the Sparrow's Polish cousin. It's not related in any way to the Corbin
Sparrow or to any of the Sparrow's later "reboots." The cars are totally
different in almost every way. Most notably, the SAM is a 2-place car and
the Sparrow is a one-seater. The only things they have in common is that
both are EVs and both are tadpole trikes.
