The event's featured vehicle will be the Defiant EV3 Roadster, an all-electric, retro-looking auto cycle, according to a news release. The brainchild of John McMillan of Morristown, this purpose-built three-passenger vehicle favors the early 1930s Ford Model A's, but with a three-wheeled design. The roadster holds the distinction of being invited by NASA as a featured entry at the 2016 Earth Day Observance, a three-day event held at Cape Canaveral, Kennedy Space Center and Orlando's Lake Eola Park. It was also shown at the Knoxville Annual Car Show. Cruise-in Chairman Kendall Bowers pointed out that National Drive Electric Week is September 10-18. "Having this all-electric roadster on display at our show is quite an honor and certainly falls right in line with this national observance," Bowers said. The cruise-in is co-sponsored by the Greeneville Department of Parks & Recreation and two Greeneville-based car clubs -- the Ridge Runners and Davy Crockett Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America. It is open to all cars, trucks, bikes and farm tractors. Registration will be $10 for entrants. The general public will be admitted at no charge. Food, games and music will be on site. Trophies for best club participation and park manager's choice will be presented. Dash plaques will be provided to the first 100 entrants. Various door prizes will be presented throughout the day. Cash prizes will be awarded with a grand prize of $100. Vendor spaces will be available at a cost of $25. Funds derived from the event go to various charitable organizations. Spectator parking will be at Hal Henard Elementary School, 425 Vann Road. Entrance to the park for those wishing to enter vehicles, plus those seeking handicapped parking, will be at 50 Magnolia Drive, just off East Vann Road. Although the park exit is normally via Magnolia Drive, it will be changed to an entrance for participants and handicapped parking during this event. A handicapped vehicle registration tag or placard will be required before admittance is allowed to the handicapped parking area.
