There are some really good deals going on as the EV-tech develops, consumers
can find a sweeter deal in just bagging a low lease cost, than buying. So, I
hope others with corrections, or more experience/knowledge will comment.

Today I saw the newswires were going to be saturated with the Bolt
announcement, so I figured it would be a slow news day. Since there is a
wacky weather storm coming in soon, I abandoned my daily routine of digging
for EV newswires, to go to a couple of Silicon Valley local Chevy dealers to
sit in (to see if I fit), and test drive the Bolt (if I do).

I still have to put those Bolt experiences together for posting (another
task to complete), so I only spent a short amount of time searching on
Lawrence' request. Using his SF zip code, here is what I came up with:

Edmunds is not as good a deal as Lawrence':
https://www.edmunds.com/lease-deals/listings/New/Nissan/Leaf/Leaf%2520Hatchback/?mktcat=edmunds_site_select&kw=generic%20link%20global%20nav%20lease%20deals&mktid=ed162643889

A SF peninsula dealership's deals:

(+ other deals)

I do not recommend the above dealership as they feed off the nearby affluent
that do not bother to look for a better deal (like Lawrence and many would).
But on the surface, it seems like a lower cost (if they these are still
available)

Nissan's lease cost is even lower than above:

Hmm, something is going to happen just after the new year, else why would
Nissan be cutting the price to move-metal? (Gain carbon credits before
2017?)

A 2016 or 2017 Leaf 30kWh seems to be about the same $30k purchase price:

https://www.nissanusa.com/electric-cars/leaf/

$215 a month for (36-1) months is $7525. How much did you put down, $6k? Is
that where you came up with the total lease cost as $14k?

If so, for about twice that cost (over 6 years), you could have bought a
new leaf 30kWh. I wonder what a 6 year $30k loan would have cost you?

So now that Lawrence has a 107mi Leaf, can we hope to read in the future
how he will squeeze out an additional 5 miles and make it a 112 mile 30kWh
Leaf?

I may have made a mistake but I just got a lease on a 2016 Leaf S with
extended
range. No down. $215 a month for 36 months. One month free. Service
included.
9k buyback. We get to keep the 2500 dollar state rebate. Do the math. Did
I
get it wrong? That is total payments/credits of under 14k. Am I wrong?
