Fuses are indeed affected by age, vibration, environment, and temperature. So it could be just that the fuse got old and tired. :-)
They "blow" when the element inside reaches its melting temperature. It blows at a lower current when it's hot. The resistance of the fuse itself generates heat, but so can a loose or corroded fuseholder.
Vibration can also cause metal fatigue. A fuse that operates near its rated current (i.e. near its melting point) for long period can gradually degrade until it fails unexpectedly at a lower current.
Water, salt spray, dirt, and other environmental hazards can also rust or corrode away part of the fuse element, making them fail.
