GGEVA has received the following request from 350 East Bay for support for the
Oakland City Ordinance for EV charging in new buildings. Please attend this
hearing to help support this ordinance.
"We need renewable energy advocates to speak next Tuesday, Jan 10 at 1:30pmat
the Oakland City Council's Community Economic Development Committeemeeting
(Hearing Room 1) where it will take up the issue of implementingstate law that
requires new buildings over a certain size to have chargingstations for
electric cars. Developers have succeeded in delaying thecouncil from taking
this matter up. We need you to demand that theCommittee set a date for a public
hearing and adopt ordinances accordinglythat would require plug-in electric
vehicle infrastructure as required bystate law. Item 6 on the committee agenda:
An Ordinance Adopting Local Amendments ToSections 4.106.4 And 5.106.5.3 Of The
2016 Edition Of The California GreenBuilding Standards Code And Amending
Oakland Municipal Code Chapter 15.04To Include New Requirements For Plug-In
Electric Vehicle Infrastructure ToComply With Changes To State Law And Adopting
California EnvironmentalQuality Act (CEQA) Exemption Findings The meeting will
be in City Hall Hearing Room 1"
