So with an EV only Smart (my original EV choice) will they *drop* the requirement to pay an additional $5K for the "not included" battery or pay monthly surprise battery rental fees? Also the crappy 50K 4 year battery warranty needs to match other EVs at 100K 8 years. The other reason I ultimately decided to buy a Leaf & Spark instead is that I *couldn't* get a shop/service manual (got on Leaf & Spark) or monitor the individual cell voltages (like the Leaf with LeafSpy). Will you be able to get a *service* manual now and be able to see cell voltages & fault codes like other EV's? They don't talk about any of this in reviews such as Car & Driver, Consumer Reports etc that have evaluated the Smart EV. I'm glad to see they're focusing on EV's but if they maintain their anti-EV marketing they won't sell many. The local Mercedes dealer said they won't have *anything* to do with them. They need to sell through someone else, Mercedes just wants to support high end foo-foo pricey cars.
