GEVCU -> http://store.evtv.me/proddetail.php?prod=gevcu6 I'm not promising it the cheapest thing ever but the software is open source and free so your cost is fixed at the initial purchase price. >From there you can make any modifications you want. Full disclosure - I'm the software developer for GEVCU. > Can you suggest a 30 - 40 kWh battery system that is attractively priced that > I can source for this application, battery system is not decided on yet) Grab modules out of wrecked Tesla Model S cars. They're about 5.5kwh a module and 24V. You can easily get to 40kw somewhat economically this way. But, 40kw is going to be only be around 170V which might be too low for you. The other alternative is to get modules from a Nissan Leaf or other production EV battery pack. They're less amp hours but smaller and cheaper so you could get up to 30kw and be at your target voltage. However, whichever way you go you should try to retain the factory BMS. Both the Model S modules and Leaf modules have had work done to make the module BMS viable outside the donor car. YMMV with anything else. > Can you suggest an on board charger that is also attractively priced but > proven (commercially), which can be sourced from US or elsewhere. Once again, the cheapest option would be to get one from a crashed EV. Tesla Model S cars have 10kw chargers (sometimes 2!), a Leaf has a 3.3 or 6.6kw charger. A variety of these have been reverse engineered and can be used in custom projects. However, I don't think the Model S chargers are one such item. I think we've still got to work on reverse engineering those. _______________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE: http://www.evdl.org/help/index.html#usub http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/ev-evdl.org Read EVAngel's EV News at http://evdl.org/evln/ Please discuss EV drag racing at NEDRA (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEDRA)
