Huh? When a key FOB battery dies, there is nothing unreliable about the Prius or being able to drive it. Granted, you should have been explained in advance that you should take the physical key out of the FOB to unlock the car and then slide the FOB into the dash slot, in order to drive it normally without FOB battery, but that is something that happens periodically and northing unusual until you swapped a new battery into the FOB.
