A few facts that have been discovered about the crash: Long approach to the center divider with no rumble strips and huge area not striped like a no mans land a lane wide seemingly encouraging drivers to change lanes at the last moment IMO. Two red cones in front of the divider as a visual marker. The retractable end cover which retracts when hit was in the retracted position giving no help in a crash. In other words the car hit a brick wall reinforced with a steel cage three feet wide and hundreds of feet long on end. I wonder why Caltrans hadn't replaced the safety structure with at least sand or water barriers? Lawrence Rhodes -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
